Every hour, Pass Checker reads each state's official transportation feed and compares it with the open, restricted or closed status the app was showing at that moment. Every result is published here, including every miss.
A match means the app showed the same status as the official feed at the moment of the check.
"App" is what users were seeing at that moment. "DOT" is the official feed.
Every hourly check where the app and the DOT disagreed in the last 30 days. Nothing is left out.
The same data you see in the app, checked against the source, on a schedule nobody touches.
At 7 minutes past every hour, Pass Checker reads each region's official feed fresh and compares it with what the app was serving at that exact moment.
If the app and the DOT disagree, it is a mismatch and it appears on this page with the date, the pass, and both statuses. No exceptions.
Pass data in these regions refreshes every 10 minutes, so most mismatches are a road that changed status in the minutes before a check.
This report covers the seven regions whose feeds Pass Checker reads directly: Washington (WSDOT), British Columbia (DriveBC), Colorado (CDOT), California (Caltrans), Utah (UDOT), Idaho (Idaho 511) and Arizona (AZ511). Other regions are not included. Pass Checker can only be as current as the DOT itself, so always confirm with the official source before you travel.
